Ecsibeo was founded in
2001 as a spin-off company from Chalmers Technology Licensing at Chalmers
University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden. Sprung from the successful
research in liquid crystal science at Chalmers University and Gothenburg
University, the concept of ”Electrically commanded surfaces”
(ECS™) forms the basis of Ecsibeo’s activities.
The development of the concept for liquid crystal display applications has
in the last years been accelerated by Ecsibeo and resulted in many different
modes of ECS™ potentially suitable for a variety of LCD products.
Currently, Ecsibeo is expanding and working together with several industrial
partners on the development of ECS™ for different applications.
