Ecsibeo has developed alignment layers that are affected by the electric field in such
a way that the anchoring of the liquid crystal (LC) molecules can be controlled. The
alignment layers have dual functions as they:
1. Can be mechanically rubbed and thus provides the initial field-off alignment to the LC molecules.
2. Contain mesogenic units which can affect the anchoring energy of the LC and thus its switching characteristics.

- ECS In Plane Switching (IPS)
